  • Merchants using WeGoo to grow their businesses.
  • Customers who make purchases from businesses powered by WeGoo.
  • Partners who develop applications that merchants can use, create stores on behalf of merchants, sponsor potential entrepreneurs at WeGoo, or assist merchants in running or improving their WeGoo-powered businesses.
  • Visitors to WeGoo's websites or anyone contacting WeGoo support.

This privacy policy will help you better understand how we collect, use, and share your personal information. If we change our privacy practices, we may update this privacy policy. If there are significant changes, we will inform you (for example, through the WeGoo admin interface or via email) .

Trust is the foundation of the WeGoo platform. This foundation includes the trust you place in us regarding the proper handling of your information. Three core values guide us in the development of our products and services. These should help you better understand how we view your information and your privacy .

Your Information Belongs to You

We carefully analyze the types of information we need to provide our services, and we strive to limit the information we collect to only what we truly need. To the extent possible, we delete or anonymize this information when we no longer need it. During the design and improvement of our products, our engineers work closely with our privacy and security teams to follow a design process that takes into account the confidential nature of this information. Throughout these processes, our guiding principle is that information about you belongs to you, and our goal is to use your information only for your benefit .

We Protect the Privacy of Your Information

If a third party requests access to your personal information, we will refuse to share it unless you grant us permission or unless we have a legal obligation to do so. When we are legally required to share your personal information, we will inform you in advance unless prohibited by law .

We Help Merchants and Partners Meet Their Privacy Obligations

Many merchants and partners who use WeGoo do not have the services of a dedicated data privacy team. However, it is important to us to assist them in meeting their privacy obligations. To do this, we strive to create products and services that do not compel our merchants to compromise on privacy. We also provide detailed FAQs and documentation on key privacy topics. We also respond to privacy-related questions that we receive .

Why do we process your information ?

We generally process your information when it is necessary to fulfill a contractual obligation (for example, to process your subscription payments to use the WeGoo platform). Or when we or a person we work with need to use your personal information for a business-related reason (for example, to provide you with a service). European Economic Area and UK regulations refer to these reasons as « legitimate interests ». These « legitimate interests » include the following :

  • Preventing risks and fraud.
  • Responding to questions or providing other types of assistance.
  • Helping merchants find and use applications via our App Store.
  • Providing products and services and improving them.
  • Providing reports and analysis.
  • Testing additional features or services.
  • Offering support for marketing, advertising, or other communications.

We process personal information only within the scope of these « legitimate interests » after assessing the potential risks to your privacy and balancing them with certain measures. For example, by ensuring transparent clarity in our privacy practices, providing you with control over your personal information where applicable, limiting the information we retain, restricting what we do with your information, to whom we send it, how long we keep it, and the technical measures we use to protect it . We may also process your personal information when you have given your consent. In particular, when we cannot rely on any other legal basis for processing, when we receive a directive from you to transfer information to a third party, when we receive your data from a third party, and they are extracted and already accompanied by consent, or when we are required by law to seek your consent (including within certain of our sales and marketing activities). At any time, you have the right to withdraw your consent by changing your communication preferences, unsubscribing from our communications, or contacting us . Your Rights Over Your Information

We believe that you should be able to access and control your personal information, no matter where you live. Depending on how you use WeGoo, you may have the right to request access to your personal information, correct, modify, delete, transfer to another service provider, restrict, or object to certain uses of it . We will not charge you higher fees, and we will not provide you with a different level of service if you exercise your privacy rights. However, please note that some of these rights apply only in certain circumstances, and the law may restrict some of these rights . If you purchase an item from a store powered by WeGoo or share your information with such a store and wish to exercise these rights regarding information related to your purchase or interaction, you must directly contact the merchant with whom you have dealt We act as data processors and process information on behalf of merchants. Of course, we assist merchants in responding to these requests as required by law, including providing them with the necessary tools and answering their inquiries .

If you are a merchant, partner, Shop user, WeGoo employee, or a visitor to the website, or another individual with whom WeGoo has a direct relationship, please submit your request for access to data of affected individuals through our online portal. Please note that if you submit a request related to your personal data, we must verify your identity before we can respond to you . To do so, we may engage a third party to collect and verify identification documents. If you are not satisfied with our response to a request, you can contact us to resolve the issue. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection or privacy authority at any time .Finally, because there is no common interpretation of the « Do Not Track » signal, it is assumed to mean that we do not respond to these signals in any specific way .

Where do we send your information ?

We are an Algerian company, but we process and work with data of individuals residing worldwide. In the course of our business activities, we may send your personal information outside of your department, region, province, country, or state. These data may be subject to the laws of the countries to which we send them. We take measures to protect your information when we send it across borders . Transfers Outside of Europe and Switzerland

If you are based in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your personal information is controlled by our Irish subsidiary, WeGoo International Ltd. Your information is then sent to other WeGoo locations and service providers, which may be located in other regions, including Canada (where we are based) and the United States. When we send your personal information outside of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we do so in accordance with applicable laws .If you are based in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, when we send your personal information to Canada, it is protected by Canadian law, which, according to the European Commission, adequately protects your information .If we subsequently transfer this personal information outside of Canada (for example, when we send it to our sub-processors), this information is protected by contractual commitments similar to those stipulated in the Standard Contractual Clauses .Finally, while we do our best to protect your personal information, we may sometimes be legally required to disclose it (for example, if we receive a valid court order). Our Use of Machine Learning

One of the ways we help merchants use WeGoo is by using techniques like « machine learning » (some laws, including certain UK and European Economic Area laws, refer to this as « automated decision-making ») to assist us in improving our services. When we use machine learning, either: (1) we always have a human involved in the process (and therefore, we are not fully automated); or (2) we use machine learning in a way that has no legal or similar effect (for example, rearranging the appearance of apps when you visit the App Store).

How Do We Protect Your Information?

Our teams work tirelessly to safeguard your information and ensure the security and integrity of our platform. We also engage independent auditors who assess the security of our data storage and systems processing financial information. However, we all know that there is no foolproof method of transmitting data over the Internet, and no electronic storage method is entirely error-free. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal information.

Sources of Personal Information

To improve commerce for all at WeGoo, we collect and use personal information provided by:

  • You: We collect information you provide when you use our platform, including when you sign up on WeGoo as a merchant, visit a store powered by WeGoo, fill in order information, visit a WeGoo website, or contact WeGoo support. We collect account and payment information you provide to us (including information about your business if you are a merchant), information you provide to WeGoo stores, items you save to your favorites, purchases you make, reviews you post, and how you interact or communicate with stores or other users through our applications and services. We also collect browsing information when you browse our applications and websites, including search terms you enter .
  • Your device or devices: We collect information about and from your devices, including computers, phones, and other Internet-connected devices you use to access our applications and services. We combine this information across different devices you use .
  • Third parties: We receive information from partners who help us provide our services, including :
    • â—¾ Email providers: If you use the Shop app and connect third-party email addresses such as Gmail or Outlook (in accordance with their terms and policies and as permitted by law), we receive information to spot emails related to your shopping activity and display Shop information about specific orders you've placed, stores you've dealt with in the past, or other related information.
    • â—¾ Service providers: We receive information from our service providers who help us provide services to our merchants, such as verifying accounts for fraud detection or other concerning elements.
    • â—¾ Marketplaces: If you use the Shop app, we receive information about purchases you've made on other marketplaces or platforms, such as Amazon, that you choose to connect from Shop. This information helps in the operation and improvement of Shop and helps us personalize your experience when using our applications or services and determine if you are eligible for specific offers or payment methods.
    • â—¾ Subsequent subcontractors: We work with third-party subsequent subcontractors for services such as cloud hosting, content delivery, data analysis, internal logging, order processing service, and email transmission, among others, to provide our services to you.     • â—¾ Data analytics and cookie providers: We receive information through our use of cookies, social plug-ins (such as Facebook's « Like » button), pixels, and tags for business purposes, such as providing information for measuring how users interact with our website content. How long do we retain your information ?

Since we need your personal information to provide WeGoo's services, we generally retain your personal information, including sensitive information, for as long as you use WeGoo's products or services or until you request us to delete your information. We may also retain your personal information to comply with legal obligations or protect our interests or the interests of others . If you act as a merchant in a store powered by WeGoo and close your store, stop paying your subscription fees, or we terminate your account, we retain your store's data for two years before commencing the deletion process . When you visit or make a purchase from a store powered by WeGoo, please be aware that we act as a service provider or data processor on behalf of merchants, and it is the merchants who decide the retention period for your information, not WeGoo .

Your rights regarding your information

Depending on your place of residence, your use of WeGoo, and certain exceptions that apply to you, some or all of the following rights may apply to you :

  • The Right of Access: Your right to request that we disclose the personal information about you that we collect, use, or disclose, along with information about our data practices .
  • The Right to Rectification: Your right to request the correction of inaccurate information we hold about you .
  • The Right to Erasure: Your right to request the deletion of personal information we have collected about you .

If you have visited a store of a merchant powered by WeGoo or made a purchase from it, please contact the relevant merchant directly. If you submit your request to us, we will transfer it to the concerned merchant. Please note that to protect your information and the integrity of our products and services, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. In some cases, it may be necessary for us to collect additional information, such as your email address or government-issued identification, to verify your identity for the purpose of protecting your information. According to Algerian Privacy Laws, you may designate an authorized agent to make these requests on your behalf. If you appoint an authorized agent to submit your request, we may need to collect additional information, such as government-issued identification, to verify your identity before processing your request to protect your information .
